The rolls come in traditional New England “top sliced” hot dog buns that are buttered and grilled to perfection. Each roll is generously filled with seafood, with the crab roll being especially delicious.
You can choose to sit at small outdoor tables along the sidewalk or at larger tables in the American restaurant next door, where you can also order alcoholic beverages. Overall, the food is excellent, and this plac... View all feedback.
What Anthony Rice doesn't like about The Lobster Shack:
I'm assuming it was the owner who served me. He was really nice and cracked a few jokes while I was ordering. It was my first time having a lobster roll. $30 seemed kinda crazy for 1 roll, it's size, and the amount of meat you get, but I had to try it while on vacation. Two small sides are included. The beans were ok, but the blue cheese slaw was great. The cioppino was a pretty small bowl, and the shellfish seemed a... View all feedback.
Absolutely delicious! We got the trio for two and it was delicious to the very last bite, we couldn't resist finishing everything. You will 100% regret if you DONT come here, we will definitely be back. The service was unmatched, we felt so spoiled and the way it is situated in the area is the perfect environment for eating seafood. 100/10!
So I came here and tried their rolls for the first time recently, I will say their blue cheese coleslaw and beans are very good, as is their soup and the price for the soup really isn't bad. I would come back for those. However, the lobster and crab rolls were a little iffy. They barely had any meat in them, half of the roll was just bread. As for the crab roll, not their fault but I was expecting chunks of crab it by default comes shredded. Overall for the price you're paying I don't think it's worth it. It's very cute inside but there's no seating, and the service wasn't too bad either. I don't have a picture to attach, so just take my word. I'll be back for the soup though sometime I really like the soup a lot.
$30 for a lobster role is kind of pricey. And my roll was a majority bread vs lobster.
I had the Lobster roll, blue cheese coke slaw and clam chowder. It was all VERY good. The folks working there were nice, clean and helpful. I ate at the table outside which was nice and clean. I would come back for the clam chowder for sure. Probably the best I have ever had.
Simple but yummy! VERY casual restaurant. Almost more of a stand than an actual restaurant but the owner was very nice and we loved all three soups! The girl working gave us a free sample of the cioppino since we had ordered the chowder and the bisque so that was really sweet of her. I noticed as we were leaving that they also offer a chowder/bisque mix which I'm definitely trying next time!
