Chaupain Bakery - San Clemente

Very yummy, fresh bakery goods. Love the sourdough breads and the vanilla Kiefer its so good!!!!!

We were glad we found this lovely cafe on accident. They have a great selection. Beats most bakeries in Europe!

We stopped by Chaupain for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the menu selection. We ordered the quiche and croque madame. On of my typical gripes about quiche is it's never consistently baked. Either too dry or soggy. The quiche at Chaupain was anything but that. Nice and firm, but not overly cooked, the quiche was amazing! It paired beautifully with the tomato soup. So much flavor and we enjoyed every bite!

This bakery is truly exceptional, tucked away in a modest storefront. It offers a wide variety of items that are just as delicious, if not better, than Bakery Neauveau in Seattle, which has been crowned the best bakery in America and won first place internationally. It's truly remarkable. While San Clemente has another French bakery and bistro called Moulin with a great atmosphere and superb food, Chaupon offers some of the most incredible dishes I've ever tasted, even rivaling the best that Paris has to offer. If you think this review is exaggerated, think again. Treat yourself and pay a visit to Chaupon.

I absolutely adored this cozy restaurant. The service was excellent, thanks to the attentive man who assisted us. I ordered the raspberry cream cheese Danish, which was hands down the best Danish I have ever tasted. The ambiance was delightful, and the pleasant conversation only enhanced the experience.
