Ovo (lopesan Villa Del Conde Resort Thalasso)

We were here from 14th to 24th of March 2023. Lets start with the good the room was good the bed was comfortable and our balcony on ground floor was next to quite pool. The breakfast was as you would expect and the staff were very attentive and polite. Now the not so good on arrival new system had been incorporated and staff were not comfortable with it,we were asked to pay for transfer from Airport 126 euros that was included in our golf package.After much deliberation and mumbled comments it was finally agreed we did not have to pay.We then left a pre authorisation on our card for 200 euros. We then added a further 100 euros only to be told later that night by a very rude waitress that our card had been closed and if we wanted drinks we would have to pay. We declined the drinks as she had made these comments for all around us to hear. We then spoke to reception who after a half hour of tapping keys and staring at screen agreed the system had not registered the 200 euros.No apology for situation or staff behaviour. The staff in the bar area had an incredible ability to look at you but not see you after two nights of this we decided that although entertainment was worth watching the service was so bad we would go elsewhere. We were quoted 44 euros per person to utilise the evening buffet but if you purchased 3 you paid 28 euros so we had the package. The first night was very disappointing poor choice of main meals and cold food. We did give it another try but again very disappointed and we never used the last voucher. We attended the Ovo a-larte facility and really enjoyed the food although head waiter gave us the impression we were fortunate to be served by him the other staff were great. As we had enjoyed so much we decided to book our last night there we called reception at 5pm to reserve a table and after no reply tried again at 6.30 and then told fully booked.Only half the facility was being used (low staff numbers we presume) but on passing at 7.30 most of the tables were empty inside and out again disappointing. This hotel needs to learn there is competition a few hundred yards away and be more customer aware and also respond quicker. On checking out we asked about transfer to airport and were told nothing to do with us contact your agent.By now it was time critical so we rang Golf Kings who were brilliant and came back quickly to confirm that hotel were sorting.The driver arrived during the conversations and confirmed he had been booked by the hotel at the last minute, hence he was 10 minutes late. Another example of staff only doing what they do and communication being very very poor. We probably not return although despite the above we had a fab holiday.

We ate here on evening as we were staying at a sister hotel. My mushroom pasta was not very tasty although the soup was unusual and pleasant. My husband had the steak and said it was one of the best he’d eaten !

Waited an hour and 15 minutes for what can only be described as muck. Manager apologised and offer an alternative but we declined and left. Avoid as not a la carte much better restaurants locally.

Las habitaciones superamplias. Limpieza. Amabilidad de todo el personal. Las instalaciones preciosas con sus piscinas, jardines.....el spa.

Hola, solamente fuimos al Talasso. Me habían regalado por mi cumpleaños la visita allí. El servicio es estupendo, te explican todo muy bien. El masaje fue súper relajante y la piscina privada fantástica, con vistas al mar. Comimos allí un tentempié y no fue muy caro. Las instalaciones están limpias. Las piscinas de agua salada, hay una para flotar y todo. Me lo pasé muy bien. Lo recomiendo bastante. Es muy bonito.
