We always come to hemingway when we visit maspalomas, and we loved every food we had in past, but this visit was somewhat overwhelming. we came around the clock and there was no one who welcomed us so that we just chose our own table. menus arrived and ordered drinks, but there was little in the way of a friendly recipe. we noticed that a few on a table near us actually went to the bar to order drinks. the waiter who came back to take our order was strange, a minute at the helpful and polite the next totally ignore our order and speak with a colleague. my wife wants salmon and asked if it came with a sauce, he replied not only a crimped butter, but he recommended the filet of sole if she wanted a fish with sauce, so my wife took his advice. the appetizers arrived, the prawn cocktail of my wife was excellent. I had courgettes with prawns and garlic that still cook on a Sizzler type dish. Unfortunately, many of the courageous and garnel had clamped and burned on the plate, also it was a very big starter and could have been the half of the price. my wife head the filetsole came with the bones on the display that they removed. the “prawn and champignon sauce” was really just a paste type mix and while the fish was ok it still had many bones in it and a very dry jacket kartoffel to accompany it. my beef stroganoff was served with chips and rice. the strips of the bark were juicy, but the sauce was very vinegary and to be honest, it was like a tomato hp sauce when that makes sense. to overwhelm my taste. a maitre de arrived and the people were greeted as long lost relatives. a kerl sings and the gitarre plays was very good, but not enough to seduce us back, I fear. the big portions, while some appeal, but really hindered my joy at the meal, as well as the schoddy waiter service, I saw that a diner stop eating, as the waiter leans over him to put a soak when it had been easier to change the other side of the table and not disturbed. pity really because my previous reviews were very positiw about this place.

It has been years since we have visited this restaurant and it retains the charm, good food, great service and value for money it always did. Would recommend you visit, if you are in the area.
This place was recommended by a dear friend. I found out that it was a false idea to invite me as a vegetarian in a steak house. I only saw the sign after I ordered my vegetarian salate. a mixed salad with brot. I had to ask. for oil and vinegar. the salat was a sad composition of many tinted materials: olive, aspergus, cut carrot, mais, white cabbage. an island full of fresh things that could be better.
Best location, view of the beach from first row. Nice food, great prices and friendly staff. Went here for tapas, everything apart from the chorizo was very nice.
