That was my first authentic Texas BBQ experience, and it was fantastic! The brisket was cooked to perfection, and the ribs were just as impressive. I also tried the jalapeños, and I was blown away by their flavor! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Smoke Shack:
it seems to me that if airport providers calculate such high prices, then food quality must meet certain standards. it sucks that we have to be here so early, they have a prisoner. the service was at least friendly. next time I'm hungry. View all feedback.
I was waiting by myself, so I was pleased to discover another location in the airport, which is so small that you can't miss it. It was early afternoon, and they were quite busy for lunch. This was ideal since I had just landed and was heading home. I ordered a brisket grilled cheese and brisket mac and cheese around 2 PM, including the tip. Both dishes were loaded with brisket, and the BBQ sauce that accompanied them was the perfect complement. The portion sizes were just right, and the prices were quite reasonable. If I'm feeling tired, I know I can count on this place for a satisfying bite!
However, it doesn't quite earn a five-star rating due to its underwhelming portion sizes, which feel merely adequate, especially considering the prices. Even by airport standards, the costs are a bit steep, and the ambiance and food quality don't quite justify it. While it's not a bad place, it's simply overpriced for what you receive.

We went there in early March, visiting with the kids in San Antonio. I was blown away by the flavor of all the food, but especially the brisket. After eating at so many other BBQ restaurants, this one immediately became our all-time favorite. l wish I could get their recipe because we live in Sacramento, CA. I would say it makes it worthwhile flying more than halfway around the country just to enjoy that again.
