Mrs. Kitchen Soul Food - San Antonio

We visited in the afternoon, and my wife opted for the fried fish while I had the smothered pork chops. I have to say, if you’re missing your mom’s home cooking, you need to check out Mrs. Kitchen; you might find yourself preferring her dishes! We plan to return next Sunday to try the oxtails. I’m really glad we discovered this restaurant! Food: 5/5

I wanted to support more Black-owned businesses, so I decided to try @mrskitchensa for dinner tonight. It was Dad's first time experiencing soul food, and he absolutely loved it! The cafeteria-style setup offered a wide variety of options. We picked three entrees: Fried Chicken, Baked Fish, and Oxtail Pot Pie, all of which came with two sides and a corn muffin. Our sides were mashed potatoes with gravy, candied yams, and corn. Dad tasted everything! Everything was tasty, but my favorite side was definitely the candied yams. We even had leftovers and got a peach cobbler to take home. More people should stop by to enjoy the generous portions, especially since the prices are so reasonable! Dad even got a 10% discount for being a senior citizen, and there are military discounts available too!

The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, and we all left feeling full and satisfied. The restaurant was spotless, which added to our pleasant experience. I can't wait to visit again! Food rating: 5/5.

This is an amazing place to enjoy some good comfort food. The setting is great, very friendly helpful staff and the food, the food is just amazing. I don't go out to eat often but this is one of my go to places to sit down and have a good home cooked meal. Just like momma makes

Stopped here with my sister for lunch. The food was very good. The place was clean, customer service was great, everyone was friendly and the music made the place lively. Enjoyed my time here.Food: 4/5
