I had a phenomenal culinary experience at Landrace. From the elegant yet inviting atmosphere to the knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated staff—shoutout to Adam—this restaurant is a perfect dinner spot. The menu features an array of delicious options, including beef, lamb, pork, and seafood. We indulged in bone marrow and escargot, along with the delightful blue corn hushpuppies. Josh, the server was very attentive! Wagyu Filet mignon and scallops were great entrées! Glad to hear the wagyu beef was from Floresville, Tx? Fois Gras was top notch! Atmosphere was quite inviting ? Will certainly return View all feedback.
However, we ended up waiting and waiting. By 7:20 PM, I had to inform him that we needed to cancel our food because we were running out of time. He apologized and offered to get my wine while he checked on the status of our order. Ten minutes later, our food finally arrived. He never asked how I wanted my fillet cooked, and unfortunately, it came out very rare. I didn’t mention it because I ate the edges while my husband finished the rest. We had to rush to make it to the show. The food did not justify the long wait—over an hour for what was meant to be a quick meal of scallops and fillet. I'm not sure we'll return; we might stick to Stout or possibly give this place another shot with a reservation. Regardless, it felt like a total waste of money for us. I’m only giving three stars because the bartender was really nice. Cheers!
This was our first visit to Land Race, and we definitely plan to return! The restaurant is conveniently situated near the Tobin Performing Arts Center. It offers a comfortable and upscale dining experience. Surprisingly, it was one of the quietest restaurants in San Antonio, even though it was full of guests enjoying their meals before heading to the theater.
Landrace was an excellent choice for our festive Christmas Eve dinner. Our appetizers and main dishes were outstanding. We did have a couple of minor issues with our cocktails: my companion's drink was not what he expected, suggesting the bartender might have misunderstood his order, and my cocktail required a slight adjustment. However, our waiter Adam was cheerful and promptly took care of both replacements. Landrace truly offers a delightful experience with both delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. The service is perfectly paced for an elegant evening. Enjoy!
We looked into several options for a Christmas Eve brunch and decided on Landrace due to its positive reviews. However, I’m not sure why it received such acclaim. The food was disappointing, especially considering the prices. To make matters worse, the service was terrible. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, yet the staff seemed more occupied with themselves than with serving customers. Unfortunately, we never received the appetizer we ordered and had to remind our server about our coffee request. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
My wife and I, along with two of our closest friends, spent the night at the Thompson Hotel, using our Amex Fine Hotels points. We were thoroughly impressed by both the hotel and the exceptionally good restaurant. The food was creative and beautifully presented. The Brisket Eggs Benedict was a delightful surprise! My wife's avocado toast was simply divine. We can't wait to return to stay and dine here again. Dining in the hotel felt more like a resort experience.
