Market On Houston - San Antonio

I work in the inner city of san antonio and to walk to the foot to the midday in this sweet little bistro is a highlight of my week. the service is wonderful (for rey) and chef rudy creates fantastic menus with delicious items. I was there for lunch today and ordered the restaurant week menu. I had a french woof soup, the bexar market salad and her turn on chicken pot pie. I cannot recommend this place enough! the atmosphere is also super cool.

Excellent food! daily served menu buffet, buffet only on Sunday. we have made a reservation through open table and the host even had a placard with our name on a large table on the window. easy walk from the riverwalk.

We eat here when we make a show in the majestic theatre. eating is great and affordable, and the service is always impeccable. beautiful restaurant in a beautiful part of the city. two are high. these photos come from a visit before a show in the summer.

The food was above average. the service was mixed (especially thanks to low unemployment). great location, surprised that they are no longer making it. but back to eating pretty good, good choices, and do not wait for sitting (many dissimilarly many nearby places) order and pay at the arrival, then they have a seat and their meal is brought to their table. morning drinks limited.

This is a good solid place to go before the majestic if you are wanting bar type food. I would have given 5 stars except for the person that was helping our server. She came to take our plates away and I still had lots of fries and thought she’d ask if I was finished. When she reached for my plate, I said “oh I’m not finished yet,” in a totally normal way. Then she said “we’ll don’t bite my arm off”. She didn’t even laugh like she was joking. She just walked away. I know it’s hard to find workers but they’re going bottom of the barrel if they think this is acceptable.
