Alamo Cafe - San Antonio

Good food and good service. Overall a 5 star restaurant but their fried chicken steak almost had no flavor. :

I’m not the biggest fan of Tex-mex but in terms of the style this place was really solid. Their take on carne guisada was interesting, and I enjoyed it. The flour tortillas were awesome, pretty cool to get a big stack of them delivered to your table. This place gets pretty busy but the staff seems to do a great job of handling it.

Good food and nice atmosphere. Was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! Fresh homemade tortillas just like my grandma used to make. I had the Chamoy Mango Margarita with the Brisket Quesadilla. Then Sopapillas for dessert. Everything came out quickly too. Would eat here again next time I am in town! Don't forget to ask for tortillas to take home.

This was the first time we 've been to Alamo Cafe since August 2021 when we had a 'below par ' experience. The manager invited us back and we were so glad he did. The Fajitas were as good if not better then most restaurants in San Antonio, the tea tasted fresh brewed, and the tortillas and salsa were just as good (if not better) then we remembered. What added to our experience was our server Joey who was attentive and responded to our requests in seconds (not minutes) when he wasn 't a few steps ahead of our requests. The manager stopped by the table to check in just as Joey was receiving a much deserved tip. When we tried to 'recruit ' Joey to come work for our company, the manager said 'He can 't, he 's part of our physical inventory ', grabbed him around the shoulders and quickly ushered him off....LOL! THANK YOU ALAMO CAFE ..... and Joey@ and as you can tell from the foto... we thoroughly enjoyed our food!

The food, service, and prices at this restaurant are all fantastic. I would happily dine here every week!
