La Mary León es un restaurante de cocina mediterránea y de mercado que acaba de abrir sus puertas en pleno Barrio Húmedo, en la Plaza Don Gutierre. El local (donde antiguamente estuviera el Restaurante Tabas) es enorme pero como un laberinto, ya que tiene múltiples comedores y ambientes, incluido un bonito patio interior de verano de estilo chillout. Está decorado con mucho gusto, combinando la apariencia de bistró francés con otros elementos de una cocina del sur de nuestro país. En cuanto a su carta, no es excesivamente amplia pero tiene platos de lo más originales, que son servidos con una presentación muy cuidada. La carta cambia según los productos de temporada. Las raciones son de tamaño medio, y el servicio es rápido y amable. Os recomiendo probar la coca de ventresca escabechada al romero con tomate confitado, olivada y brotes tiernos; el carpaccio de ternera con virutas de parmesano; el tataki de atún con aguacate, mango y salsa teriyaki; y el magret de pato con puré de calabaza, mango, salsa de Oporto y pera horneada. Para terminar, no dejéis de pedir el postre estrella de la casa: Tim Baon (helado de turrón con crema catalana y chocolate caliente). El punto fuerte de La Mary es su excelente relación calidad-precio. El precio medio por persona es de 15-20€ por persona a la carta; también hay un menú a mediodía por 10€ con 7 primeros platos y otros tantos segundos, incluyendo postre, pan y bebida. Admiten cheques gourmet. La Mary León es una franquicia del Grupo Andilana que ya tiene otros restaurantes de la cadena en ciudades como Valencia o Bilbao. Está abierto todos los días de la semana. A pesar de que el restaurante es muy grande, conviene reservar.
