Contribute FeedbackDespite some negative experiences, the overall impression of the restaurant is a positive one. The Wine Project in San Carlos offers a variety of food, delicious brunch options, and great service. Some standout dishes include the truffle fries, ratatouille, and gluten-free pizza. The staff, particularly server Erick, received high praise for their knowledge and friendliness. A few guests encountered issues with reservations, cleanliness, and food quality, but there is room for improvement. Overall, The Wine Project provides a pleasant culinary experience worth visiting again for its good food, creative cocktails, and great ambiance.
I loved the wine flights, especially the sparkling wines. The portions for the food were just right as well!
I made a reservation on OpenTable at 9:44am on a Friday. We arrived for our 7:45pm reservation that same day and were told by the host that our reservation didn't go through. I showed him my confirmation number and that it was confirmed that morning at 9:44am. His response was that it couldn't have been confirmed as the restaurant wasn't even open at the time. Was the guy an idiot, a liar or lazy? The whole point of OpenTable is that the platform allows you to make a reservation any time of day regardless of whether the restaurant is open or not. We left on account of the attitude of the host and the lack of ambience of the place.
The fish tacos were delicious! The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine options we asked for and didn't push us to buy the most expensive one. I will definitely return to this restaurant!
We had a great time dining at The Wine Project. The menu offered more options than we had anticipated. The owner was very welcoming and the price was reasonable for San Carlos.
Like this place a lot! It is on the pricier side but it is kind of bougey.
