Delicious!! The food here is real Tex-Mex and is amazing. The margaritas we had were strong but not so strong you felt like they were trying to get you drunk. It was a great way to start the meal! The food is delicious, everything is made to order. The tacos are great, the shredded beef crispy tacos are a must try. If you like chile realleano this place has a good one. What Mercedes Nikolaus doesn't like about Mi Tierra Cafe':
The experience is festive and full of life. Beautiful interior and the mariachi is awesome for $10. Organize with registration wait time was 35 minutes. Tortillas were bomb. Having said all that. I didn't enjoy the tight squeeze in and out. The food was mediocre, nothing stood out with the taste buds. When your hungry and your food isn't splendid was a negative. The waiter was more concern with throwing out the plate... View all feedback.
The best traditional Mexican restaurant in Texas! It’s been years since we ate there and we weren’t disappointed. Our server , Eduardo G. Was excellent and accommodated special requests with grace. It was a joy watching this historic business in action. And the food was delicious, and fresh!
I have been visiting San Antonio from Austin for about 50 years and have almost always eaten at Ti Tierra. Early on, I parked on the street separating it from the market across from it. When the street was removed, I parked in the small lot behind the restaurant. Returning yesterday, my GPS couldn't direct me to the restaurant because of all of the blocked roads, and what is now a one way-street prevented from reaching the small parking lot. I paid $10 for the privilege of parking in the Goodwill lot and was not in a cheerful mood when we walked to the restaurant. While my son and I were waiting in the bar for our table we received draft Mexican beer in frozen schooners and the restaurant began to transform itself into the Mi Tierra of old. I ordered the standard Mexican plate and son got the poblano pepper plate. The service was excellent and the ambience of the colorful restaurant was better than ever.
I have been here a few times but it has been over 10 years. We had a long wait, longer than they said. When we got seated, it looks like they didn't have the staff needed to run the restaurant. The food also was not like it use to be. I was disappointed.
Best service, food and atmosphere in San Antonio. An iconic family business that is a must go to place for locals and tourists. Visit the market and bakery. You can’t go wrong at Mi Tierra.
Great food, atmosphere and the bakery is absolutely delicious. Eclectic decor and beautiful murals in the restaurant the Mariachi Bar is right across from the bakery is beautifully decorated and would be perfect for any formal affair.
