What David Greenfelder likes about Duke's La Jolla:
Our server, I am sorry I don't remember his name, was from S.Africa and was outstanding. We love the food at all the Duke's and yesterday was our first dining at the San Diego location. The food was excellent. I wish we had a table closer to the view, but I didn't know to ask. View all feedback. What Hokie Pokie doesn't like about Duke's La Jolla:
We got a beautiful table to celebrate a birthday. The calamari appetizer was burnt and the panko crust was not great. The poke tacos were good. Macadamia crusted mahi mahi portion was tiny for the price and undercooked wobbly and slightly pink in the thickest area of the fish. read moreThis restaurant offers a separate weekend brunch menu with delicious appetizers and cocktails. The ocean view is beautiful, but some patrons experienced disappointing service and food quality. Despite the high prices, some found the food overrated and had to deal with long wait times and poor service. However, others praised the amazing view, friendly staff, and memorable dining experience. The Ahi Tuna Steak and Hula Pie were highlighted as must-try dishes. Overall, mixed reviews suggest that while the view is unparalleled, improvements in service and consistency in food quality are needed to match the hype surrounding this establishment.
The food was delicious, but the atmosphere and service were particularly fantastic!
