Reviews - Botika
Reviews summary
Botika offers a unique blend of Peruvian and Asian dishes in a beautiful location that enhances the dining experience. While some guests found the food to be lacking authenticity and the service to be subpar, others raved about the lovely ambiance and delicious offerings. The limited menu was not an issue for many, with the portion sizes being generous and perfect for sharing. Overall, Botika seems to be hit or miss, with some patrons loving the culinary experience and others feeling disappointed. However, for those willing to give it a try, the eclectic and flavorful menu combined with the fantastic ambience make it a worthwhile visit.

Love this place! Went for my moms birthday and they were prompt at seating us. I have a gluten intolerance. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and could easily answer my questions as well as make suggestions for how to modify some dishes to be gluten free. Loved the food!!! This will be added to the top of my list of safe places to eat! View all feedback.
What Gustave Pacocha dislikes about Botika:
The table was dirty. We cleaned it ourselves. The service was slow. The food was okay, but nothing special and not really Peruvian. The best part is location. It was a beautiful evening and that was the best part of the experience. View all feedback.

Server was outstanding and food was good. Hostess asked us to sit outside but we got dressed up so we said no can we please sit inside. Then the women that took us to our table yelled to the kitchen that we were the reservation that didn 't want to sitoutside . Basically called us out. Why? It was my wife 's birthday and it killed our excitement and mood.
Food was great, a mix of Latin and Asian selections. They gave us a brunch menu at 3 oclock which would have been nice to have lunch or dinner. Really can't complain about the service or food quality but the people on grill/wok station were burning a lotof oil (probably to season their equipment but that made the air smell a bit bitter.
Great place to meet with friends. The ambiance is chill and it is not loud. Food was amazing and service was exceptional. Bartenders were friendly while we waited for our table We had the empanadas for appetizer and they were so good!
A perennial favorite that my wife and I visit every time we're in San Antonio. The mixture of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine works very well, and the flavors on dishes like the lomo saltado and the steamed buns are incredible. If you can, try theirbrunch, which is even better than the regular menu!
Food was visually pretty, but did not taste good at all. The salmon roll had three different types of cooked salmon, but mixed into each piece. I kind of was expecting it to be a few pieces of each type. Any way, the person and I dining tasted one pieceof each roll we ordered and left. It was *that* bad. Rice was not cooked well, salmon (to me) tasted like what I imagine dogfood would. I could tell our server wasn't interested in seeing if we liked our food, so I didn't bring it up. Very awkwardleaving. Will never go here again.

Empanadas are good. The rolls use way too much sauce and lime. Beware, rolls use a ton of nori so if you love nori and can’t get enough of it then this is the place. Otherwise, yuck. It’s way overpriced for the quality. The food flavors are clunky and not well balanced. Service is excellent.
Great atmosphere with knowledgeable and attentive staff. The food is amazing and keeps me coming back to this spot. Go for a nice bottle of saki with your dinner.
During my visit, my guests and I struggled to find something intriguing on the limited menu. We opted for the Hamachi Tiradito, which was decent but served in large chunks in an oversized bowl, making it appear scant. The vegetable roll was disappointing and the Japanese Golden Curry with chicken was overly salty and lukewarm. The only highlight was the spicy tuna roll. I was also surprised to see how empty the restaurant was, especially compared to the bustling crowds it used to attract. Despite this, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. It may have just been an off night, as other restaurants in the area seemed to be more popular among diners.
The restaurant was disappointingly average. I had high expectations but was let down.

Our second time. One thing we loved before was the vibrant atmosphere, very missed this time, but it could have been better out of a dark corner. Food was all good, again, but we ordered too much as the portions are large family style. Good leftovers

The hot plates that we ordered were all over cooked, manager was inattentive (being kind here), and the waitstaff was average. Botika once had my attention, I'm feeling like the things that set it apart in the past have disappeared.
Excellent as always. We have come to Botika since they have opened, the quality of food remains excellent and the service was always great.

Not only were the aesthetics on point, the food was remarkable! If you enjoy Asian fusion food don’t sleep on BOTIKA
Food is amazing. They tell you ahead of time that all dishes are served as they come up. I was thinking about sushi, but the wait was 45 minutes. Instead we each ordered an entree and shared them as they came out. They say that’s the best way to order and explain it when you sit down. The spicy eggplant noodles were one of the best things I have eaten at the Pearl.
The Bento plate was a great mix of Asian/Peruvian fusion and the Pisco Sour was spot on!! Will definitely come back!
Menu is limited- I was not super hungry, but found myself devouring all the food placed in front of me and some across the table. Our waiter Tyler was great. He talked to my hubby about the octopus and hubby did indeed order indeed did love the octopus. Very knowledgeable. Very nice. Also had pot stickers -delish . Was a solid 7-8 on a 10 scale.
