Our dinner was great. The food was cooked to perfection, beautiful presentation and charming atmosphere. The plates are very small, so large eaters can still be hungry. Will definitely be bad again. View all feedback.
What King Williamson doesn't like about Asado Grill at Hotel Karlan:
menu and food were very interesting and pretty tasty. Ambiance was not very good. We went Mothers Day evening for lunch and the main part of the restaurant was shut down so we ended up eating n the bar......so there was zero ambiance...uncomfortable chairs and plain table stuck in the corner.....guess they were very bus for brunch that day and had minimal service and staff for dinner View all feedback.
My first impression was, right? I hope it's much better for Sunday brunch. the room with the pretty white covered chairs shown on the picture was not open when we went. we had our choice of one of the tables around the bar - although there were some outdoor tables to look at the former golf course. the selection was minimal. my man had laughs and I had psychic, and the same sauce came to our dishes accompanied by kartoffels and sparing. very simple. well done, but expensive for ground. it was quiet, because apart from the bartender and our server there was only one other parade on a Friday night.
We went to Mother's Day. the buffet was not extensive, but the food was well made and the service was very good. they also gave us doses of doubletree chocolate chip cookies at the end, which is much more beautiful than roses.
I was looking for a restaurant in our neighbourhood that we had not been, offered a good value to celebrate a birthday. it happened san diego restaurant week many businesses were involved by offering a 3-course menu. her price was $30/pp. many of the items offered are not on their regular menu. some of our diners ordered the SDRW menu that others ordered from the regular menu. the ceviche had cured zitrus rockfish garnelen w/avo mais chips was very pleasant. the orange avocado salad was dressed with butter salad with red wobble, Cotija cheese a Zilantro calf and was very refreshing. the grilled achiote mahi mahi came with a lime-calantro reduction, sweet maiscake carrots...yummy! I enjoyed the grilled mojito pork chop was added with a mais salsa w/mashed sweet potatoes. I ate everything. mahi mahi tacos were ordered from the regular menu, the order of the four were filled with avocado, homemade salsa, cauliflower served with a Zilantro rice for $18. our lonely vegetarian had loaded the pasta primavera with farm fresh vegetables basilikum marinara at $16. the petite filet mignon at 6oz. was so delicious that was grilled with chimichurri for $32. one of our diners had to have the 8oz. angus asado burger with aioli, lettuce, tomato, pico, avocado, pfeffer jack cheese annnd bacon. finally there was only space for two desserts. I loved the caramel filled churro with chocolate pudding sauce. also ordered was the coconut rum flan (art der ei custard.) All-in-all... everyone has gone very happy after home. I enjoyed one of the craft brews of san diego by eating a few 16 unzen. duets, single ipa of alpine brewery, the pine, zitrus, cedern notes of simcoe amarillo hopfen, at $8 a pop. my better half had the brancott estate marlborough sauvignon blanc, which has sweet ripe fruit figures with a delightful mix of citrus, flowers, birne and tropical fruits and a crisp Netle highlight. I'm back.
Would not recommend this restaurant needs better food quality
Food was excellent. We had the mixed grill and ribeye and both were very tasty. Thanks to the chef! However- Don’t select the restaurant if you’re looking for a romantic dinner or special ambience. If you stay at the hotel and want a quiet good meal, perfect.
