All Spice – San Mateo

The food was imaginative, beautifully presented and delicious. The string in a small house was intimate and quiet. Would definitely return for another meal

We have dined several times before and went with another couple this time. I did not realize it had changed to a prix fixe menu. The total for of us was Our server was spotty and we waited quite awhile for him to open the one bottle of wine we had brought. I think it is very confusing with the way the menu is laid out and your options. We all had a three course meal.. but I ended up eating my main course while others were eating dessert and had been offered coffee. My husband said his two dishes were excellent. I thought mine were all fine.. I did come home and have a snack though.. so for the price we will not return. But if you are a foodie, into the several courses, small servings.. and don't mind the price then it is a nice option in San Mateo

Great food, very diverse and extremely well presented. Impeccable service, professional, relaxed and accommodating. Outdoor seating but it feels very private.Overall an outstanding experience

I am pregnant and couldn't eat a lot of the courses but figured my husband would just eat for two. Instead the chef prepared vegetarian and pregnancy safe courses that were incredible. Such complex and beautifully prepared dishes and such wonderful service. An evening we will never forget

I have eaten at this restaurant for special occasions twice, and the first time the food was amazing but the waiter was extremely rude. I had hoped it was an offnight and since the food was so good I came back for Valentine’s Day. I deeply regret that choice given that the food wasn’t anywhere near as good the second time and we had two different waiters who were both extremely rude. As an example, one member of the party was vegetarian and when the appetizer was served it looked like steak tartare he asked if it was vegetarian and the waiter snapped at him that it was and that he didn’t need to ask about every single dish. It’s ridiculous to spend over per person not including drinks to be treated that way. Do yourselves a favor and don’t go to this place
