I ended up with an espresso in a large cup with a pot of hot water on the side—nothing wrong with that. After tasting the coffee, I took the cup and saucer back to the counter and found an older employee who didn't even say thank you and presented me with a €5 bill. The cash register display showed €4.80. Anyway, I paid, said goodbye, and left. Finally, €5 for a coffee and a brioche in Samarate seems a bit excessive, but that's just my opinion.
