Kaffeehaferl Salzburg

Sitting outside. a nice lady served us. the food was great, I had the goulash suppe, which was a great taste, and from us had the bark stew she enjoyed, but liked my goulash taste more. sohn in the law. has huh and chips he also enjoyed. good choice for a place to lunch.

We went to this coffee house every day we were in Salzburg. We ate salads, sausages, toasts, pasta, and soups for our meals and indulged in delicious desserts. We enjoyed their coffees, hot chocolates (white and Grosse) and teas. The staff was very attentive and the location was convenient to the old town without feeling rushed or crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits and felt like we had found a second home.

I have been to this restaurant many times and only had the soup or strudel which was fine but on my last visit, I decided to have the Goulash and was sick afterwards. And before you think anything else, I only had their goulash that day and was sick right after. Even a day after and my stomach has still not recuperated. They brought me a plate that looked like it was platted the day before or the one before that and reheated in the microwave. The knödel was mush, the sauce not liquid and the egg not fresh. When I tried to explain my concern, I was reassured it was fresh, even if it did not look like it. I trusted them and had food poisoning. Even my boyfriend had a hard reheated bun. Nothing was fresh. Will not go back anymore when I am in Salzburg.

This place like most places in Austria has the most amazing coffee. This is a cute little cafe in the old town of Salzburg. Also try one of their cakes while you there.
