Contribute FeedbackTrofi Restaurant at the Hilton received mixed reviews from customers. Some found the food overpriced and average, while others enjoyed their experience, especially mentioning the attentive service. The breakfast buffet was described as typical hotel fare, with some complaints about cold food and long wait times. Customers staying at the Hilton or downtown seemed to appreciate the convenience of the restaurant, while others felt it was not worth the price. Overall, opinions were divided on whether Trofi was worth a visit for breakfast.
My wife and I were staying at the hotel and in spite of the negative reviews we decided to give it a chance. We made a reservation (not needed) and arrived and were quickly seated but we didn’t see a server for about 10 minutes. We reviewed the menu and almost decided on the buffet based on what was described on the menu. While we were waiting for the server, I decided to have a look at the buffet. I’m glad I did because the menu description and the actual items were completely disconnected. There was no meat/cheese, minimal fruit, minimal pastries and hot food that I would expect from a Hampton or Home2. Not worth the price. Maybe it was an Easter morning thing but the table of about 10 was joking about how crappy it was, it tells you something! I ordered eggs Benedict and made sure to tell the server that I wanted runny eggs.(yolks) They delivered on that but the hollandaise sauce was basically water and tasted like it was from a powdered mix. My guess is that it was and the cook didn’t use the correct ratio of water to mix. In addition, they sauced the English muffins and then put on the Canadian bacon and egg before dousing it in sauce again. All the sauce basically ran off. They then topped with green onions, not chives. The potatoes were closer to described but there wasn’t a hint of caramelized onion anywhere. They were basically frozen food service potato wedges with a little bit of parsley. If you are going to charge premium prices, you should deliver on the menu description. In the end I ended up with soggy English muffins that soaked up the extremly loose sauce and quite honestly nearly perfectly poached eggs.
We went to our reservation. The place was chaotic with a giant bus ski group and the menu was changed to a basic buffet without any of their featured menu items. When we asked, they said the change was last minute to accommodate the large group. There was no point in waiting for the buffet as the group overtook it at least 20 people in line, we left and ate elsewhere.
The restaurant was okay. Food was okay. Service/waitress was great. Way overpriced. Will not return.
To expensive and for breakfast food and a fee to go eat as well
We enjoyed our breakfast here! Our waiter Ram was excellent! My husband order the Hilton breakfast and I chose the continental breakfast. Both were very good and everything was fresh!
