What User doesn't like about Stratford Proper Cafe Bistro:
We waited 40 minutes for our waiter until I went to the desk and asked for a glass of wine while we wait. They were out of 2 dishes understanding the supply chain issues we found others. However the food was just ok and the wine selection was basically poor. If you are a wine lover pass. View all feedback.
Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. We originally sat outside on their beautiful terrace just to be hit by a sudden thunderstorm! They moved us immediately in everyone had a good attitude about it. Food was really good, tastes very fresh house made. I got the Bistro Burger my fiancée got the smokehouse, both were really good. If I'd get another burger, I'd make the smokehouse! Very friendly staff. Definitely will return. ? Even if you?re 21 the whispers of the Ursee is now my new favorite.
Consistently cancels Door Dash orders. Today they canceled our order after 15 minutes of it being placed because they got busy. Any restaurant that gets busy wouldn?t then go kick out a table that has been seated for 15 because they had a dinner rush, so I?m not sure why our order was any different. One time I get, but this has happened at least three times.
It was super busy today and they were handling a short staffing problem with a lot of respect and grace. Excellent food and our waitress Rachel (not sure on spelling) was kind and attentive despite the extremely rude customer at the table behind us who for some reason thought it was ?proper? to throw expletives around like candy. Thank you Rachel and Stratford Proper for providing excellent service despite the patrons being less than excellent to you. Ben, you might want to work a food service job post-pandemic. It might teach you a bit of humility and kindness.
Absolute worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I can?t even begin to explain how Unprofessional this place was today. We were seated after waiting 30 minutes for a table. Then after being seated we waited about 15-20 minutes for someone to even come and talk to us. Once they talked to us we gave them our order right away. We waited for an hour and a half for our food. Up until the point where I went to the front desk to tell them we had been waiting for over an hour, with Many other customers being served before us, that were seated after we were, and they even finished their meals before we got ours. And our server responded with ?let me check on that for you? and she had said that two times prior to me walking up to the front desk. Then a manager came and spoke to us. And practically asked us to leave. And was very rude with her approach. And we told them. We would just like our food as soon as possible so we can eat our breakfast and leave. And the manager just gave us bad excuses for them being an hour and 30 minutes for a simple brunch plate. The food is decent but not worth the absolute terrible service I received today. I am still waiting for my food by the way. Typing this out as I wait. I am not coming back. You?re better off visiting other brunch spots around SLC with more than proper service. Stratford proper was the complete opposite as what I would describe ?proper?.
Fairly good. The most striking aspect of Stratford Proper was the atmosphere. We dined outside in their tent (it's December), and they had heaters (though I still kept my coat on), and festive garlands and lights. I got the Smokehouse Burger, which was a special that night. It was a standard burger with bacon, bbq sauce, and french onions the bottom bun was slightly soggy, and the bacon wasn't very crisp. But otherwise, it was good. It came with crispy shoestring fries. My friend got the other special, a cacio e pepe pasta with pepper and garlic. It was very good; you can tell that the pasta is homemade. I was a little disappointed in the dessert; they had only an Earl Grey tea cake, which did sound delicious, but I was hoping for more variety.
