I was on the hunt for an Al pastor plate near my house and came across this place for tacos. They?re very friendly and it looks like the make it all right there. I will say it is a little pricier. I got the Al pastor taco special, 4 for $12 which was basically a free taco because normally they?re 3.75. They were a ?boujie? version than I was use to, the presentation is very pretty. Which kind of explains the price. A... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Maize Tacos:
Short review: good tacos, just a bit spendy Longer review: I got a carne asada and pastor taco and I liked them well enough. The asada was on par for most places. The pastor was good as well, but not the best I?ve had. Chunga?s pastor are better IMO. The problem I have is the cost. It was $3.75 per taco, so with tax, it?s over $8 for 2 tacos which is just too much, especially with the size. I put my key card to give... View all feedback.
These were easily one of the best Mexican food places I’ve tried in the city. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. The gringa taco and their surf turf burrito were my favorite. The quesadilla is loaded with ingredients so it makes it hard to eat like a quesadilla, feels like more of a giant taco.
Maize Tacos on Regent Street is the ideal place for a casual bite to eat before a night at the Eccles. The star of the show are the hand-made tortillas. That said, they pack their tacos within an inch of their lives. My carne asada was stuffed with meat that was crispy on the edges and flavorful. The shrimp in the Surf n’Turf taco was seasoned smokily and the pico played against the smokiness nicely. Fairly priced and friendly service.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food here!Came in a pinch before a show without a ton of time. We were looking for a quick bite but not fast food. Luckily right across the street was Maize. We were able to order and eat in less than 30 minutes before our show. The food was delicious the service was fast, the only thing missing was the atmosphere. There weren't many patrons or decor to add to the dining experience. That all said... We're definitely are going to return and you should try it too!
The tortilla at this place is bomb. Nothing better than a “hecha a mano”. I had the Al Pastor one and it was really good. I’ll be coming back here more often.
The super nachos were fantastic I could not finish the entire thing myself. Service was fantastic with lovely people. MUST stop by and try their corn tortillas at least ?
