My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of the resort in Salou Old Town when we chanced upon Chapeau and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb, light and airy, great decor and furnishings, an eye catching serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its just a great bar to chill out in. We ordered bottles of Estrella Damm beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar. A big fan of this famous Spanish beer, perfect for the hot climate out here in Salou, its a light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink, when served freezing cold as in this bar its just a really refreshing beer indeed, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother Stephen ,best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to here we had a great time. Chapeau is easy to locate along Carrer De Barcelona. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 7am till 2am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
Chapeau on C.de Barcelona is a fantastic café-bar that offers a superb range of well priced drinks and superb tapas and snack type meals. This superb café-bar has a very modern look and feel with brilliant features throughout it's interior and a great outside terrace. We visited here early in the afternoon on a roasting hot day and this brilliant café-bar was just starting to get busy.We sat outside were we had a couple of bottles of Estrella Damm Cerveza Mediterrània'a really good Spanish lager which were served iced cold and were really well priced. This is a fantastic café-bar thats located in a fantastic area of Salou thats well worth a visit if your around this area.(This is my first review of Chapeau). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-07.00-02.00.
We were told to sit wait at our table to be served. It was clear we were travelling as we had suitcases. They continued to serve local customers and they didn’t serve my family. I went up to confirm we were to sit wait and I got shouted at asking what does he want me to do he is busy. Our taxi arrived, 40 minutes after arriving at the cafe. We didn’t get to order anything, we didn’t get to eat or drink before going to the airport. This was a huge disappointment as we had walked in the heat with our luggage to go to this one cafe in particular as my daughter had seen it and thought it looked nice. Huge disappointment, poor manners, poor service. I do not recommend. I can’t comment on the food as we had not gotten to order but it was expensive for the size of the food.
Out of the way, and appreciated, less touristy, more locals, which is good, prices good, definitely would come here next time I go to salou.
We have been to Salou twice and love spending the evening in Chapeau. It is quiet, offers great service and is off the tourist radar; as you can see by previous reviews this is mainly used by locals. This is the perfect place to have a glass of wine, a coffee or a piece of cake while just chilling out. Tip: try the Spanish language for ordering; the staff are really supportive of you testing your Spanish, even if you're rubbish, and this really isn't the place for those who just expect everyone to speak English
