Stopped at Wally’s Cafe for the Mama’s Breakfast Pot Pie and coffee. It took 20 minutes to arrive on the table. fortunately there were plenty of warnings that it would take some time to prepare. The pie was spectacular! Their menu describes it as “Brimming with seasoned potatoes, fresh homemade sausage gravy, bacon, ham, sausage, and scrambled eggs, topped with a buttery flakey crust, and a light cheddars sprinkle, baked for 12 minutes.” I’ll be coming back to Salmon ID just for that pot pie.
If I could give a review without a star that would be great. If you have nothing but time to wait then this is the place for you.Waiting now going on an hour and a half. Three tables that came in after the two of us have been served.Service is the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere ever.I would not recommend this place to anyone.NEVER AGAIN THIS PLACE TAKES THE TROPHY FOR WORST PLACE TO VISIT IN SALMON IDAHO.Not worth waiting for.
I ordered the breakfast pot pie and was impressed by the flaky crust and thorough cooking. It stayed hot until the last bite, despite the generous portion size. My husband tried the homemade Chicken fried steak and was also pleased with the large portion and excellent flavor. The crispy outside and tender inside were spot on, and the sausage gravy had a delicious sausage taste. We recommend getting the homemade biscuit over the toast. Our only complaint was with the service. With only two staff members, it seemed they were struggling to keep up. We saw some tables leave because they were not attended to, and our own meal took longer than expected. However, since we weren't in a rush, it didn't bother us much. We had been trying to eat here for two days and finally managed to arrive early in the morning. It was worth the wait and the early start. Parking is available on the street in front of the restaurant or across the street. A free unpaved parking lot half a block away is also an option.
Service is a bit slow but the atmosphere is great the Breakfast Pot Pie is fantastic!
