Shalimar is a nice spot for Indian food that is also connected to an Indian grocery store. I stopped by to try their food and ordered samosa, goat curry, lamb biryani, and garlic naan. The samosa was good and came with tamarind and green chili sauces. The lamb biryani was good if you like rice dishes. The goat curry was tasty and paired very well with the garlic naan which looked so good. Be sure to get your naan wit... View all feedback.
My wife and I moved to Bethany Beach full time in July. We were in Loudoun County and surrounded by great ethic restaurants. Since moving we have been searching for decent Indian food. If you really enjoy authentic Indian cuisine you will love this place. Its not fancy but it is hands down the best Indian food we have had in this area. Everything is homemade and made to order. We ordered Samosa as an appetizer and knew as soon as we took the first bite that we found our place .
A small place lacking the traditional atmosphere but wow the food is fantastic. I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s oddly perfect. Try the mango lassi. And if you are a regular he tells you about the special ingredients he has just received like ghost peppers. I was too chicken to try that but it’s spicy enough when I order medium.
Wonderful food and exceptional service. The restaurant is very basic, but the food is amazing. My husband (who is a very fussy eater, and reluctant to try new things, and had never tried Indian food) said it was better than any Chinese food he'd ever eaten. The lightest, fluffiest rice I've ever had. The gentleman serving us took time to find out how spicy we wanted our dishes, and the results were perfect. Very friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive, unlike some places where you seem to get interrupted every 5 minutes to be asked if everything's OK. I would thoroughly recommend Shalimar.
We stopped by here the weekend we were in Salisbury for the Seagull Century bicycle ride. This place is a gem! We 7 dishes. Each one was excellent. The hot milk tea was exquisite. Wish we had this in DC so that we could dine in frequently here. Absolutely loved it! The owner and the service was friendly, courteous, and very kind!
The day after Thanksgiving I was driving around looking for something to eat while waiting on my wife's new phone to be updated. I stumbled upon this restaurant/small grocery store. By far the absolute best Indian Restaurant my Wife, Children, and I have ever been to, and we live in the DC Metropolitan Area. It looks like a complete hole in the wall! For 10.99 per person we ate the lunch buffet which is served Tuesday-Friday. Even though there are only 8 items (plus all the fresh hot Naan you can eat), everything had it's own flavor packed into the dish and just the right amount of spiciness. It really may be too spicy for some children, but my 7, 6, and 4 year old loved it! Not only that, they didn't charge me at all for my three kids, he just charged me for my wife and I. All the food was nice and fresh and really just so flavorful! We will definitely be back again, again, and again!!!
