Sage Diner in Salisbury is truly a hidden gem! My family and I love dining here regularly and always have a fantastic meal. The service was not good. We were seated quickly but only given 2 menus for 3 people. We waited 15 minutes and no one came to serve us. We left because of the poor service and the brunch menu was not great. The dinner menu was also given to us at noon instead of 3 pm. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Only 1 star, but we bumped it. Sorry to those expecting brunch after church, as they do not serve brunch at that time.
I used to enjoy dining at this restaurant, but it has been about 6 or 7 months since my last visit. I'm not sure if there has been a change in management or what has happened, but the atmosphere is definitely different now. It took a while for our meal to arrive, and when we asked for a to-go cup as we were leaving, we were informed that there was an error in charging us for our meal. The cashier/manager had to call over the waitress to clarify the ticket and we were charged an additional $0.30 for the to-go cup, which has never happened before.
As a vegan, I feel the need to address the fact that this restaurant serves veal, meat, milk, and various other non-vegan products. However, as a vegan in a non-vegan city, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff who were willing to accommodate custom orders. After taking both my and my grandmother's orders, the waitress made sure to confirm that we didn't want any cheese on our meals. I appreciate her attention to detail. The vegetarian and vegan options are not clearly labeled on the menu, making them difficult to find. In fact, I only discovered they had a veggie burger after reviewing the take-home menu. Overall, the staff's friendliness and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences made for a positive experience despite the restaurant's primarily non-vegan offerings.

Overall, while the menu may not cater specifically to vegans, the staff's willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions is a positive aspect of dining at this establishment.
