Giorgio's at 201 - Salinas

I love the relaxed feeling of this place. I would definitely try more dishes again. the sopis were amazing. the table was a bit high and wobbly, but everything else was great. everyone loved the waffles. service was well equipped and friendly, mimosas were great.

We had a party of 10 RSVP days before to celebrate my sisters 26th bday. first we were all served by friendly servers. during the buffet my grandfather in a metal screw! without causing a scene, the waiter grabbed the screw without solution, so we kindly asked another waiter for the manager. not only shrug and ignored the situation as not a big thing, they did not pull the shaffer pan where another screw could be found. not even we got an apology or a free thing to help the situation. five minutes ago two full hours sitting from us, the waiter gave us only 5 minutes to hand over the table for the next party. now she gave us the opportunity to move the party outside into the terrace. because we have gathered our dinge to move us outside the front host, couldn't we go out? After we have received the option, they showed the fingers to each other and contested themselves and made us all uncomfortable. we were then taken to the Deli side without sitting. waiter even laughed that we could move together for the room. if they are not mistaken that a violation and possible affirmation. of all this I would never refer to someone here, felt not welcome and received terrible service.

Menu is a little weird, really meat heavy. Only 3 pizzas to choose from? Only vegetarian choice was angel hair in tomato sauce. Even the gnocci came with chicken, which is a weird choice. I don't think I've ever had gnocci with anything other than just sauce. Wine list was pretty slim. Staff started turning off the lights around our table at 7:30. This was on a Saturday night. I guess downtown Salinas isn't really a Saturday night life destination... If everything was about $5 cheaper I'd consider going back, its really beautiful inside, but the food was pretty meh for the price. It's definitely not a $30 steak dining experience.

That was our second time. the first time was eating great, but the service was very bad. we gave him another shot and it paid off! the food was great again and our sergeant was great! we will be safe again.
