I stopped by here for a quick lunch while I was in town looking at rental houses. This place has the best salsa! I absolutely can't stand cilantro—it's a deal-breaker for me when ordering food—but their salsa is so good that I didn't mind at all.
I have eaten several times over the years in El Maguey and I always thought it would be okay or pretty good. I ate this Tuesday night and could not believe how GREAT it was. I had the Mexican Enchiladas that I believe for $9,99. 3 enchiladas, each a chicken, beef and pork, with 3 different sauces: verde, mol and colorado. Oh, MY. GOD. I live in Utah and we have a lot of good Mexican food here, but I must say this is absolutely the best Mexican food I have ever eaten in my life! I don't know if they have changed ownership or management or whether they have a new cook, but whatever the reason, my meal was great! I can't wait to eat there when I visit Salem again. I don't remember my waiter's name, but he said it was his first day on the job. He just did it well, brought more chips and salsa and water immediately.
I live in New Albany. We wanted to fix my car. We were here for lunch and it was the dopest. Riley was great. I loved or came out on the pig. The blue margarita was sub par, but the **** Mary was brilliant. I like the beer coming in a masonry glass and soft drinks in large salsa containers. Ur was also great that it happened, children eat free day! I'd like to drive for 40 minutes to come back. Oh and I loved seeing Selena on the wall and available on the jukebox.
