Truly beautiful location. Small hotel right on the beach. Wonderful hospitality and service. Food is excellent, with fresh unprocessed ingredients. Had some challenges with electricity outages and sleeping without AC was challenging in the August heat. Highly recommend visiting if you are looking for something peaceful and relaxing. Suggest you pack ample mosquito repellent! View all feedback.
Private, beautiful and serene boutique hotel. Delicious food, super friendly and accommodating staff.

Excellent hotel on a beach with very few people definitely off the grid and not for people that look for a lot of entertainment and action. Food is yummy, one can tell that it is all home made and that they do not work with dressings out of a bottle, purchased sauces etc. And the bread in the morning is to die for. Also very happy with the good customer service, the entire staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely a place to come back to.
We spent 6 days at this small hotel, located on a nearly empty, beautiful (but rough Oaxaca beach. If you're looking for quiet and 1:1 attention from friendly staff and cooks this is the place. Remember that this is a 3 star hotel located on a pretty quiet coast it's included on several top boutique hotel lists and the NYT, and these lists mostly include hotels that are much fancier. You won't find all the creature comforts found at high end hotels. For instance: the pool, while clean, is losing some tiles; the beach and pool chairs aren't super comfy; our room's AC didn't really cool us down until 3 or 4am; and, the road into the hotel is quite rough for the final 1 2 miles. But in so many ways, Manta Raya delivers! Very, very tasty and affordable food (although the included continental breakfast is a bit light. Incredible dinners while seated outdoors in front of an unreal view. Inexpensive drinks. Good sized rooms; all of them have incredible views. An empty beach with constantly evolving waves, colors, rocks, cliffs, etc (but not good for swimming while we were there. Proximity to other beaches I'd highly recommend renting a car so that you can explore this fantastic coastline. Very friendly and attentive staff (can't say enough how nice our hosts were! This is a place to unwind, to eat fresh food (especially seafood , to base for day trips, to soak up the sun (except during rainy season and listen to the waves.
