I totally recommend it. very nice and attentive waiters. We take tortilla, chipirones in its ink and crab cover with shrimp. We asked for half a ration of this last one and when they brought it we thought it was wrong because it was quite large. in our opinion good food, good deal and good price. View all feedback.
What Eric Lenghan (Foto) doesn't like about Meson La Dehesa:
As most of the comments are saying, this is not a good place to go and have a drink, let alone eat something. The waiters aren’t nice and they’re trying to sell you stuff that are much more expensive. For example they might try to pass you a glass bottle of water instead of a plastic one to charge you double. I paid €3.20 for a beer which is normally €2.50 and the other bars. View all feedback.
Nice tapas and food but you can find better places and cheaper in Salamanca. Friendly Staff and nice service.
This place does not look like a must-go-place from outside. Rather the opposite. But as some other reviewers pointed out, don't let the appearence fool you! Many varieties of tapas and decent portions. Price is right considering the quality of the tapas. Mineral water might be expensive, but we had an excellent bottle of rioja reserva beronia 2008 for 20 euros. I hope they keep buying it from the producer, top wine! PS they do have tables outside during the summer
Over the years, we have eaten here often. It's a dull, gloomy, unprepossessing bar in a side street just off the Plaza Mayor. You would think twice about going in. About venturing in. Might it be dangerous? And worst of all it has pictures of the food, for the benefit of foreigners and illiterates. : You stand, or , if you're lucky, sit on a wonky stool, at the bar. They dump the food down in front of you, plonk your drink, expect you to help yourself to both the tissue paper thin serviettes from the plastic holder, and the wooden toothpicks placed strategically every metre along the bar top. Fine dining it ain't. I never eat in restaurants or bars where they have pictures of the food. It's the worst sort of place, catering for foreign tourists who just want everything with chips. But the pictures are a fairly recent addition, hoping to attract foreigners, but without success when we were there. But the food, oh the food, is certainly worth it. You get here the most luscious ham, chorizo, cheese, lomo, salchichon and all the other cholesterol laden goodies that the region is famous for. I see that a French reviewer has complained about being charged for bread that's commonplace all over Spain. You'll eat a hearty snack here with wine for the two of you, and despite paying for the bread, and the extra glass of wine, and having some gorgeous ham and lomo and cheese, it'll cost you less than breakfast for one in the parador. : Then when you've finished licking your lips after that, leave and turn left down the Calle Prior to the ice cream shop on the corner to round off a lovely lunch.
Super fast and efficient service all we asked for was very good
Pedimos el plato de carrillada de ternera y postre de natillas caseras. Todo muy bien, el camarero atento y paciente. Te puse el pan sin preguntarte y te cobran, no muy caro pero no sabía ese detalle hasta que vi la cuenta.
