Chez Maurice - Saint-Lazare Canada

A scary experience.My first and last time ever going here.Not too sure what happened this evening but the service was almost nonexistent and the owner lost his temper at another group.Seemed like the restaurant was overbooked and understaffed even though we had made a reservation for 4 people.By the time the food came it was cold. We would’ve complained about it but we were so hungry and no one came back to check on plus we were almost late to the show.I’m so glad no one in our group complained because later in the evening we saw the owner yelling at another group of people before the show.To be quite honest, it was pretty scary. I will never be going back.

I will never go back.The food took forever and was cold. Staff was inattentive and over booked even with a reservation.The owner does not know how to talk to people. He was very hostile towards at least two other guests.The owner came and screamed at one of the other guests before the show. When the gentleman tried to speak to him calmly, he lost it on him even more and then walked away yelling to himself. My girlfriend and I were frightened by this experience and she almost had a panic attack because of him.We stayed for the show but later in the evening, I heard him telling someone else that people should eat somewhere else before the show and accused her of making his waitress cry.Judging by the way he was acting towards her, I don’t think the guests are the ones making the staff cry.This evening went from bad to worse because of the owner.Needless to say, we didn’t feel comfortable or safe around this man and left shortly after that.I would recommend that you stay far away form this place at all costs.The one star is the minimum rating otherwise I would’ve given negative stars.I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if we would’ve complained about anything.

Alcoholica the sound rots too loudly we can't hear the voice that came in through the terrible sound adjustments... we left before the end of the first part. Very disappointed with the price $35 flushed for nothing x4 because there were 4 of us which is not worth the price. This group has already been good but this is the end. I'm a fan of Metallica and I pay 800) the ticket for each show I know and know their music. At the Olympic stadium it was strong but not normal for a small place like Maurice to be so strong. Nothing but noise, nothing but noise...A shame for Metallica. Very disappointed. No tribute. They weren't good and the sound sucked. Even the doorman had earache.

Great place for live music. Bar seems a little overwhelmed sometimes so going back for another round is usually not worth the trouble. Very loud and hot but that probably changes from show to show.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Chez Maurice. We went for dinner upstairs on the beautiful terrace last night before the awesome show (I think District Dogs got this one ? but not only an amazing show but the restaurant was dynamite. The food was delicious and service was impeccable. We will be back ?
