What Bren doesn't like about Le Vieux Canal:
Two of us went to this restaurant. The Broccoli Soup lacked flavor and it was difficult to taste the broccoli. The Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and vegetables seemed to have canned shrimp, root vegetables, carrots, green beans, and a bland white sauce without any hint of garlic or parmesan cheese. The other dish, the souvlaki, was cold and overly salty. We spoke to our waiter about our disappointment and the manage... View all feedback.
I was there at lease 5 times this year ...very nice restaurant ,good food, nice welcome, great service...bring your own wine!!! nice location
This is a typical BYOB restaurant with a large menu featuring Greek-style meat with rice and salad, pasta, etc. Some of the food is heated from frozen, so the flavour is not always the best. The service is friendly and efficient and it can accommodate large groups well.
We had a nice meal of chicken with rice and salad. The ambiance is lovely and the portions are quite generous.
We were 10 , nice place by the river , a little noisy when I was there . My dish ( salmon with fettuccini alfredo & shrimps ) salmon was undercooked and the fettuccini tasteless , didn't like it at all , but for the record my other 9 friends liked their meals very much . Bring your own wine / beer is always fun , prices are good and service is friendly , a Greek style restaurant, family and large group friendly .
Good food, good service, not too expensive. Bring your own wine is a plus. They have a very nice terrace for those warmer nights. Don't seem to have specialties - this menu can be found at any Greek restaurant. Two negative aspects: 1) the noise - people are too loud; 2) not enough parking - depending on the time of your reservation, you will need to park in the streets and walk for a few minutes.
