We were travelling from Calais after going through the Channel Tunnel and we wanted to get half way down France before stopping for the night. We often stay at Campaniles as they are terrific value. This one at Montlucon was extra good. The walk-in 5 ft shower was a dream. No plastic curtain dripping water all over the floor, just a floor to ceiling glass shower screen about half the length. What User doesn't like about Le Restaurant Campanile Montlucon Saint-Victor:
we arrive in an empty restaurant (3 tables) we order an aperitif then meals. A first dish has arrived. by bringing this dish the waitress tells us "I think there were other dishes?" bin yes!!! 10 min after a second dish and the other 2 dishes were still gone to forgetting !!!! We were 4 without the children, we ate in 3 services! Not even a gesture or an excuse. And for food it was no more. Don't go! View all feedback.
We booked this 3* campanile hotel from home, we were welcomed by a pleasant young man who gave us a couple of alternatives to our choice of accommodation, -half board, meals included etc. Chalet 12 looked clean, but no soap in the shower and the sink is best described as driving through a muddy road as there were at least 6 brown cracks in it and the mixer tap badly needed fixing back to the wall! We'd pre booked a table for dinner but still had to wait several minutes for a table to be dragged from a side room with chairs. A sour faced young lady took our order -two plats du jour. A rare beefburger with bacon, onion and lettuce and mine was a roasted Rouget with a butter enchalotte sauce. Both these dishes were tasty. One dessert was taken, but served from a help your self trolley definitely nothing to write home about. I am amazed that a chain of hotels, restaurants like this campanile hotel can have a 3* rating with an old and badly crashed sink. We got the impression that the two young serving staff did not really like their jobs as they did not smile or took enjoyment and pride from their job.

This one at Montlucon was extra good. The walk in 5 ft shower was a dream. No plastic curtain dripping water all over the floor, just a floor to ceiling glass shower screen about half the length. The room also had electrically operated blinds on the outside of the window, no more winding up and down by long handle. The staff, as always, were very cheerful and friendly. The breakfast was also good value. We stayed on the 14th April 2016 , double room and two breakfasts 55€ can't get better value anywhere. Thank you to all concerned.

I think from the outset that if the host person should not take care of the guests' reception, the reservations of future customers, order meals, bring them etc, the quality of the service would be significantly better. one feels eager to eat, choose, andca read the map, one would really believe in the restaurant annexed to a hotel. but the speed of serving quickly quickly takes the real desire of what the customers want. In summary, my dish is served without sauce. Following my observation, the waitress told me that it was part of the dish but that I had to ask myself. or it is not marked by any I had to do it....bref, when the (good) sauce arrived, my (beautiful and good) meat was cold. Too bad.
We went there tonight, there were practically no people and she told us that it was full. not very kind in addition, I recommend not
