What Mengerrie doesn't like about Le Saint Vincent:
We were staying at a B&B in Legny and the owner recommended this restaurant in the tiny village of St. Verand. It seats about 20 people at 4-5 tables. The cook and waitress were quite friendly and our meals, mostly pizza were served quickly. At the time we were there a local football (soccer club had come in after a victory with a trophy and were having a wonderful party. The festive atmosphere in the this small rest... I went for lunch on an overcast day, and ate at a table near the entrance rather than on the terrace in the square outside, as it was rather windy. Saint-Verand is a pretty village in the southern Beaujolais, overlooking the Azergues Valley. Le Saint-Vincent offered a set lunch menu for 15 euros, with 3 choices for the first course, 2 for the main, and a wide selection of desserts. My salade aux lardons came with lettuce, hard boiled eggs, tomato and freshly fried bacon cubes, delicious. My main of slightly garlicky roast beef and potatoes was also faultless, and was washed down with some red wine. I had a pleasant fresh fruit salad to finish. The owners and serving staff were friendly and chatty. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Good honest fare, very good value.
Bought 4 good quality takeaway pizzas, thin crust, quality toppings, a little small but the price is reasonable €43 for 4) so good value for money. Warm welcome, the owner excepted to turn on the oven 15 minutes earlier to serve us at the requested time. Brief experience to be repeated. I recommend From photos the pizzas are already eaten , next time I promise)
Excellent table without reservation, a table for 4 on the terrace with a welcome air in this month of July! Remarkable cuisine, thanks to the chef for this avocado-shrimp-mango verrine, meurette egg, top-notch snails. Dishes also succulent: tournedos with Beaujolais sauce, sea bass fillet with dill, the potatoes are to die for. Full menu at 25€ and 32€! Attention terrace adjacent to the P'tit St Verand, don't make a mistake! I forgot the glass of red from David Vivier Merle is great with this meal (in moderation of course).
Very good cuisine, in a small corner of the countryside, to be recommended. The charming staff.
If you stop in the small village of St Vérand, take the time of a coffee, or a lunch break. The kitchen is excellent, as well as the reception and service. The bosses are adorable!! I highly recommend! In photo, small Flemish and gratin carbonade, all to take is just top! Thank you, Saint Vincent!
