I love Tally but have not found a restaurant where the cooks know how to cook vegetables and sides. Beans and veggies are always overcooked and too salty. The veggies at L.Thicket are cooked enough to be done but not mushy and not too salty. I especially love the green beans, limas and black eyed peas, the best black eyed peas I’ve had in years. The turkey and dressing is delicious as is the cornbread. The only side I tried that I didn’t like was the potato salad, too much mayo for me. The blackberry cobbler (heated) with ice cream is fabulous. The dessert list includes several pies and cakes which all sound great. This is a bare bones restaurant with no frills but very friendly servers and reasonable prices. Meat and 3 is $9.99 but you can get veggie plates for less or a bowl of soup or chili for just under $5. Tallahassee’s calling…..we need you.

I... read more When our food finally arrived, two of the five meals were incorrect, but she mentioned that she couldn't ask the cook to fix it because he was upset with her. It was quite a mess. The food itself was just okay, albeit extremely salty. We ended up eating whatever came out because we were running late and didn't want to wait for the staff to sort things out.

Unfortunately, I found... read more I have been a loyal customer of Lizards Thicket for many years, but this morning I had a disappointing experience with a takeaway order. Unfortunately, I found eggshells mixed in with my scrambled eggs. This is the first time I’ve encountered such an issue, and it's disheartening because I have always expected the best from Lizards Thicket. It seems the person cooking didn’t pay enough attention. This particular incident occurred at the location on Two Notch. I really dislike wasting money, and this experience made me feel like I did just that, as it's simply unacceptable. I have come to expect a certain level of quality, and this morning did not meet those standards. While I still rate Lizards Thicket fairly well, I hope management will address this issue. – Dr. Michael Wayne Varnadore
