Keeping off the Toll roads north of Millau nipping from the A71 to N7 we came across Saint Pourcain sur Siole. A charming town with a lively centre and there we ate at a local eatery. Very pleasant reasonable priced food of local cuisine. View all feedback.
What William Berger doesn't like about Brasserie du Cours:
We were planning a quick lunch and went to the brasserie for a menu du jour. Unfortunately, the rice in the starter was not cooked properley so i did not finish that. Main was a very nice fish with grilled vegetables, this was way too much but good and the dessert was rice pudding with something sweet on top of it. View all feedback.
They knew we were English and overcharged. When I challenged them they gave me the money back that they stole. Bad for the area, avoid.

If you are on your way to visiting one of the oldest vineyards in France this is a good place to have a good and cheerful lunch. nonsense and simple food for a reasonable price.
We were looking for a place for lunch while en-route and saw this restaurant so decided to give it a go. A good decision as the food was good, reasonably priced and the staff were pleasant.
We were looking for somewhere to have lunch on a Sunday, and found just the place, the Brasserie du Cours in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule. This is a delightful little town, with plenty of places to park and plenty of restaurants. We headed for the one which had lots of custom and soon found out why - formule express for €13, with drink included (a huge steak with a mountain of pomme frites). Service was swift and excellent, and the man in charge spoke perfect English to us (how did he know?). And if you're not driving, don't forget to sample the local St Pourçain.
