I enjoyed the food here so very much! They work with excellent fresh ingredients and make every plate special. The wine selection is excellent with all over France. Don't forget to reserve because it can get full very quickly after 8 pm. The menu is on an interactive tablet with photos and description in english and french. View all feedback.
What AimeeLally doesn't like about Restaurant La Fontaine:
This had an adorable terrace seating area but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Food was almost inedible. Limited menu. Would not recommend this at all. Worst meal of 3 week trip. View all feedback.
Le premier calamari du monde we had the most exquisite lunch today Magret du Canard, Calamari that surpasses any I have ever eaten in many many fabulous eateries around the world the staff are incredible and the terrace is the perfect setting in this magical hill top town we can’t thank you enough and will be back!!
Do NOT listen to the negative reviews and trust someone who has traveled throughout the world (see my reviews! . We were recommended the Hostellerie La Fontaine by our hotel (Hotel Le St. Paul and we were so glad they did! We were there on a quiet weekday night, so it was peaceful to enjoy our dinner and relax after a full day of traveling. We shared an amazing appetizer of a baked camembert topped with shaved truffles served with buttery toast points and then each chose the beef tartare for our entrees. The portion sizes were perfect! The wine list offered a great selection of wines, all reasonable priced. We chose a rose (hey, we were in Provence! . Unfortunately we were too full for dessert, but the options looked terrific. Service was warm, friendly and welcoming. I'm not really sure where these other people went, because our experience at HLF couldn't have been better! Merci beaucoup a tous!

For the first time in a very very long time we walked out of a restaurant. The person who greeted us was bristling with an attitude possibly not meant for hospitality. We sat, desperate for a drink. We looked around and there were about another 6 tables taken on the admittedly pretty terrace. None of whom appeared to be eating or drinking. An iPad was put on the table. No word spoken from the still non smiling front of house. We started to search the wine list. Seriously? Are those prices serious? To put in to context, we are NOT scared of paying the price of something but it did smack rather of get the tourist in and fleece them of their money. The food menu included pictures. Always a classy option. I’m sure they will say it’s to help tourists who can not speak French to choose. The picture of my cats food in his cattery are better. It just felt like we were being robbed. So we voted and left. Luckily we were eating at the most expensive place in the village later…..where the wine was actually cheaper by the way!!
Large crowd to be fair but booked ahead. All sat down but an hour before food order taken. Just plied with wine. I ordered chicken . Completely uninspiring , dry and served with a slice of zucchini, no sauce. €90 later not impressed. Plus asked my jacket to be hung up and told to put it behind my chair, when said no, they took it and at the end of dinner found it folded over a chair inside - not impressed. For this money there are so many great restaurants around . Avoid.
