Le Relais Des Volcans

I use to enjoy going for a a nice light snack or a wrap when I worked in the north industrial, unfortunately this place has closed!

This restaurant is not located in Mauriac, it is about 25 minutes' drive away. It is specialized in regional food and has a beautiful environment.

We found the walk from Falgou to Puy Violent. It looks like a modern French house, but inside is a restaurant. It is not a place for sophistication (bright illumination, flying, large room with photos of local mountains), but it is ideal for Ramblers who are looking for a healthy local food. We enjoyed 2 specialties: Pounti and Truffade, which were excellent. We had them in another restaurant in Salers, but it wasn't so good and expensive. Some locals had a drink and then a meal that added some atmosphere. The landlords were very friendly and helpful for local walks, even offer us an elevator back to our car. They also have a few self-included chalet type accommodation on their land enjoy great views of the valley. We had a look inside and they are quite basic, so it is more for hikers or families, for which a calm and landscape is more important than comfort.
