The atmosphere was a bit overwhelming for my liking, with a number of loud and overly boisterous women present as we finished our meal. It became challenging to get the staff's attention, seemingly only if there was a request for drinks. On the menu, however, it looked like they were ready to open a tab for anyone without hesitation. My husband and I have been going to Tally for years. We enjoy the atmosphere and the service was always great. But the other day I reserved a pontoon for two hours. Unfortunately, I planned it twice. I immediately called to inform them about the mistakes with hopes they would charge me twice. Unfortunately, the owner would not refund me for the mistake. Indicating they want their mistake, but none. She gave me a gift certificate for the money. While that was okay, I don't feel right. I should be reimbursed for the amount I called right away. In addition, I spoke to the owner when we went for our pontoon ride. She was cold like ice and wouldn't knock. I will not go back there I will give other places my business. Your customer knowledge really needs improvement.
Stopped for a drink on a Friday late afternoon. Friendly service and a great view of the lake. Ordered a tropical cocktail that was really good and reminded me of a long ago Jamaica vacation. Will go back for sure.
Great BBQ from Hook's Eatery across the street. Smoked meats are AWESOME. Great place for a happy hour on a summer day. Boat rental is also super convenient and a pretty nice perk for a day on White Bear Lake!
Smallish busy place. Pub style... Find a place to sit, order at the bar and open a tab. Pleasant outdoor experience by boat docks on White Bear Lake. Food was pretty good but nothing fancy. Well equipped bar and good selection of beers on tap. Saturday evening live band singing... starts with a toast at 6:00 pm.
How fun! We have been to CG hooks many times in the past and always wanted to rent a pontoon. We rented a 3 hour rental today and had such a blast!!! It was very easy to reserve and getting situated was a breeze. The dock workers were super friendly. We were off in no time and enjoyed the 3 hours in the water and the lily pad we rented from them. 3 hours went by way too fast so next time we will do a couple more. We loaded up our car and headed back for dinner and drinks. What an amazing day and we will be back next year to rent a pontoon again! I had a cocktail and we all had the pulled chicken quesadillas. So good!
