It is very loud in the restaurant during dinner time. So loud you can barely hear the person at the table when you talk, or hear the waitress when ordering. We switched our reservation to an earlier time hoping it would be less busy, but there was a huge, loud party seated by us and apparently they didn't care about others trying to enjoy dinner. We ate as fast as we could to get out of there. The food a d service th... View all feedback.
What Keith Simpson dislikes about Bennett's Chop and Railhouse:
Very good food overall and very generous wine pours! Two negatives: (1) their most expensive steak was not cooked consistently medium rare, as requested, but parts were medium or even medium-well. It can be hard to control steak doneness uniformly, but for as much as they charge, it should be done as the customer has requested. (2) Quite loud; it was quite hard for my dinner party to converse. Great food and service. will eat again in any case!
Great service, great food, and great drinks!! Highly recommend it!!
It was extremely noisy. It is a small place and it was packed. The problem was that with all the human noise the bartenders felt the need to loudly play music. Asked waitress to have them turn it down because we were under a speaker. They did initially but in a few minutes it was back to loud. I then talked to the hostess, I was very upset at this point, and again asked for the music to be turned down. She was very helpful and asked it we would like to move to a different table which was better. We waited over an hour for our food. Food was good. I would not recommend this place if you want to have dinner and conversation.
We visited the new Hudson location last night for supper. The atmosphere was very fitting for downtown Hudson, and the servers were all friendly and accomodating. However, the food was shockingly bland and unimpressive. For the price of the meals, itcertainly wouldn't take more than a few minor recipe changes to really elevate the food. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll bereturning for meals. With that said though, the martinis were wonderful! With the atmosphere and cocktails, this location doeshave promise for an enjoyable happy hour location. Edit in response to owner: At the time of trying the Hudson location, weknew it was a newer restaurant but it was unclear to us if it has been open a few days or a few weeks. As I mentioned before, the staff was wonderful and there were no hiccups in service. At the time of posting, my only issue was that the food was ratherbland in flavor. Given the price of the items and the fact there is another location in St. Paul that's seemingly successful, Ihad higher expectations for the flavor profile of the items. After reading the owner's sarcastic and rude response, we willcertainly take our business elsewhere. I have no doubts with time and feedback the menu items could improve, but based onprevious reviews, it seems the owner's attitude towards female customers will not irrespective of location.
Its a chilly rainy monday at the office a couple of my employees are feeling under the weather. Historically whenever I'm feeling ill a nice chicken pot pie does the trick. Living in Minnesota since 2000 it's always a challenge to find cuisine that'smade with comfort and originality. It's always a take away , but today was worst I searched the web for chicken pot pies near meand ran across this place! Red flags went up when asked for no onions and was told onions was in the mix! When my staff receivedthe food it was nothing as advertised, a bland chicken noodle soup and a puff pastry. When my staff explained this wasunacceptable he was treated as if he knew nothing about what a pot pie is supposed to be and was offered no option to rectifythe situation. Too many times these fly by night restaurants pass off garbage food with no presentation this is unacceptableand to find bay leaves in soup shows that these 60$ supposed to be pot pies was slopped together my harsh reality is if thisplace thinks something as simple as a pot pie supposed to be presented in such a way should stick to making cocktails.
