I have eaten here twice and on both occasions have had a gastronomic experience exceptional. The ambience is superb the service second to none and the cuisine superb. Not a place to go for an inexpensive meal but you really do get what you pay for. Madame when you first meet her seems a little stuffy but she's not and she runs a tight ship. Magnificent wine list to compliment magnificent cuisine. View all feedback.
If you are looking for a truly wonderful dining experience in a welcoming, charming and unpretentious atmosphere with fantastic cuisine, you will not be disappointed. This restaurant is also an excellent value. In many ways it is the epitome of the best of country dining in France. The chef takes great care with the food, beautiful presented, excellent fresh ingredients and ample portions. The service is attentive, but it is also a very relaxed atmosphere – somewhere that I would have no problem bringing well mannered young children. The fish and meat were cooked to a perfection, and the desert was spectacular – a assortment that included sorbet, crème brulee, chocolate cake, a raspberry reduction, and a bite size strawberry cake. The chef came around to the tables at the end of the evening, and was most amicable. He even pitched in assisting the wait staff clear tables. I can not wait to return.
Went here to celebrate my wife 's birthday, and we were not disappointed. Some way out of Clermont (between there ane the A89). Don 't be put off by roadside situation it is quiet and beautifully presented inside. Limited choice of menus, but all sufficiently different. We took the Gourmandises (at €55) which was exquisite, served at a good 'eating ' pace and with some style. The filet de bar and the risotto de morilles were outstanding. Good, though not cheap, wine list (we had an excellent Gigondas). Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Excellent local choice for a special ocassion meal.
We have been there twice in ten days and each time was abolutely fantastic. Service, food, sommelier...just perfect! Better than many 1 star Michelin i have visited. Great value for money. See you next time.
My wife and I have Birthdays on consecutive days so we combine the celebration which is a good excuse to be extravagant. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and had excellent food of Michelin standard, on this visit the food was good but not as good as we have experienced before. The taste of all the dishes lacked its usual perfection. The broth accompanying the fish course was very over seasoned with what I thought to be corriander and the jus with the calves kidneys and sweetbreads tasted very strongly of wine which over powered the delicate flavour of the kidneys and sweetbreads. The starter was fine if not that memorable but the dessert was delicious. The wine list is good but expensive we had half bottle of Monrachet white and half bottle of red Burgundy (I can't remember the name) together they cost €68 the total bill including two apperoteafs and two coffees came to €200 not including service. The service was faultless and the ambience superb.
