This restaurant is in the historic village of Farges 5 minutes from St Nectaire. It offers typical Auvergne dishes cooked to a high standard. Since my wife and I needed a break from potatoes and cheese in the form of aligot and truffade we both had the duck confit which was excellent. And the homemade apple pie with vanilla ice-cream was delicious too. View all feedback.
We found this place purely by chance and decided to stop for lunch. Very good quality and value and very delicious. Was a beautiful day so we chose to sit on the terrace. Lovely location and I'm sure we'll return when we visit the area again next year.

A bit outside of Saint Nectaire, this restaurant proposes local cuisine refined with the splendid Saint Nectaire cheese. Especially the "phonsounette" is worth a detour, unfortunately served in limited quantity on the plate.A hint for cheese lovers: right behind the restaurant you'll find the boutique of the famous Bellonte farm, producing an exceptional Saint Nectaire cheese. Count 16 euros the entire cheese (1.5 kg), which is half as much as in most shops.
Set on the grounds of a farm and troglodyte caves used to make cheese, this little gem is all you could expect from an authentic family inn... Homemade cooking, warm atmosphere, thatch roof, beams, high ceilings. Nothing disappoints. The traditional food is generous and excellent, the team young and enthusiastic, the price reasonable. The waiter who cared for us just joined the team so had lot of pressure on his shoulders yet he was perfectly professional and cheery. Not too much, not too less. Like everything there. We were lucky to get a able that time cause the place was fully booked so in high season, if you want to visit, better book!
Today was my first visit to RIC The lunch buffet was delicious and well varied Vegan and non vegan were plentiful.
