it's about the bark. the workers in this wonderful restaurant are wonderful and create a very relaxed and pleasant environment. the restaurant was about minutes from the pension where we lived and we did not want to in. aix on Friday night. it is a bit difficult to find, and with gps it is just confused. make sure to list both the address and the city at the search. I had the chuckp black angus steak, which is grille... View all feedback.
What Paula Bueno doesn't like about L'Oustau De Saint Marc:
Le 9 juin 2017 nous avons fait un repas de fin d'année dans cet endroit, nous étions 70 personnes, le président de notre association avait négocié le tarif à 35 € par personne ainsi que nous avions l'habitudes les autres années dans d'autres établissements. Nous n'avons eu droit qu'à une seule consommation pour l'apéritif, il a fallu payer la deuxième si on voulait (pour nous cela a été pris en compte par l'Associati... View all feedback.
It had risen to lunch and so pleased that we did. with its terrace sitting opportunity under shadow perfect for a sunny day, chose the course menu offer the eating was amazing and the service was excellent, this is a must visit place when they are in the opposite many thanks for this experience.
We arrived quite late to Aix-en-Provence, and hurried off to the nearest restaurant to our house rental, which turned out (happily) to be L'Oustau de Saint Marc. The setting was beautiful in the outdoor garden, with a full moon adding to the ambiance. The service...and the meal were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the foie gras, the Loup de Mer, and the Tranche de Brioche. We will return again to this truly lovely restaurant!
We've visited L'Oustau de St Marc several times on previous trips to Aix-en-Provence and have happy memories of its good food and lovely outdoor setting. Unfortunately we were disappointed when we revisited it on Saturday evening. While the setting is still good, the food was...quite average. While we enjoyed the fois gras entre, the lamb main course was worse than average and the duck just acceptable. The deserts also were poor. The fixed price meal was still quite cheap maybe too cheap to maintain the former good quality.
We had a relaxed and very enjoyable dinner The owner took his time to show us the single copy of the menu on a blackboard but after we selected our food it came pretty quickly Everything was very and reasonably priced It is worth the...short ride from aix for very different experience
The smart' restaurants in southern France seem to be about vertical cooking' with food piled high, and splashes of colour all around the perimeter of your plate. This place is about excellent plain country cooking. Simple and incredibly tasty. We came from a lovely morning...walk at the Bimont dam outside Aix, and happened upon this place across the road from the entrance. There were only two other tables being served it's late October, and they are no longer open during the week once November comes but we got a warm welcome from the family that runs it. We had a tarte pissaladiere, some veal in a cream sauce and roast lamb. Exquisite, all of it. Polished off with profiteroles (for the young lady) and some of the best coffee I have had in France. Definitely worth a visit if you're out by Bimont, or hiking Mt. Ste. Victoire. I can imagine the terrace would be lovely in the warmer months, and soon on the cooler nights they'll have the large fireplace blazing.....
