The best restaurant in the city. A menu of the day centered on 2 inputs/plats/desserts. House kitchen. High-quality dishes. Very reasonable prices. The restaurant is pleasant, a limited number of places that favor the quality of the service, it is very appreciated. The manager does not hesitate to advise you for the rest of your day or to talk to you about the history of Saint-Malo so that your stay is at best. A rea... View all feedback.
What Антоније Којунџић doesn't like about Le Bistro de Jean:
We went with high hopes of a recommendation but sadly this was not a great meal but it was expensive. The ambience is good but the menu promises more than it delivers. Langoustines were flavourless and wringing wet you could literally squeeze the water...out of them so I imagine defrosted at 14euros. Nice profit. Main course veal was bland. Lamb shank was well cooked but the sauce was lacking and the potato undercook... View all feedback.
We're told no reservation needed for 7 people - just come by 1900 and we ll seat you... well, showed up but we told off in quite dismissive and rood manner.
Nicely done meal, the sauce for the scallops was outstanding, the service was personable and engaging. The beef cut and prepared perfectly. Wine selection broad enough to have something for everyone. Great meal, great experience. I would return given the opportunity.
We entered into this restaurant by chance and I can say it was a pleasure. It is a great place to enjoy local food and taste masterly prepared dishes. Service and attention were exquisite. Overall they made our lunch a very pleasant stay.100% recommended without any doubt.
Saw a few tables available outside as the storm clouds gathered. Chose the Menu of the day. Coarse patè with toast and extra bread. The sea bass portions in a delicious sauce was our main course choice. Washed down with a savignon and a pression we just had room for a choice of dessert which we ate inside as the rain poured down. The staff were great translating some menu items for us before they left in the rain. The considerate 'patron' saw we were dressed for summer weather and offered to give us a 'parapluie' to keep us dry so we could return to the underground car park about too metres away. Good value - great customer service.
Today we had lunch in le bistro jean. We ordered The lams shank and risotto with scallops. Both the dishes where cooked to perfection. The lam was falling of the bone and the scallops carmalized on the outide and super soft inside. Both the sauces where super tasetefull, this was is excellent cooking!
