Les Chenes - Saint-Leger-La-Montagne

I had the best chance to be able to eat at Les Chênes last week during a visit to my brother in France. Owner Mike agreed to welcome our table 3 and we were the only guests in his comfortable and welcoming dining room. He was wonderfully engaging and not only prepared our meal, but did all the service. From the aperitif on the outdoor terrace to the blown for dessert, this meal is listed in the 5 best culinary experiences of my life. The three entries were served with the most delicately perfect sauces, my favorite being the mushroom dish based on the local mushrooms chosen that day. I don't think I left enough meat on the pigeon bones that I ordered to satisfy the smallest mouse. If you are in the region of Saint Léger the mountain please and try to have a reservation... you will not regret it! The places are bucolic. A warm, smiling and sincere welcome. An aperitif served in the living room in front of the fireplace. A well-established table (the very nice English covers). And serious things start. A meal worthy of a 3-star, hearty and refined, without a false note of the aperitif at coffee. Our English hosts offered us an excellent time to share. Probably one of the best tables around Limoges. To renew quickly. Thank you again!!!

Booking to celebrate a birthday was great! The kitchen, bread, service, an excellent surprise for this first time for us. The road is not long but the property is worth a visit. To discover urgently for those who don't know!

Very good restaurant, very nice reception with the super chef Mike, the quality of the meals, everything is at the rendezvous. I strongly recommend.
