Mary Browns - Saint John

Was recently trading complaints about trends in menu displays at fast food places. Confusing, hard to find what you want or especially to price compare. Carefully crafted to induce you to "choose" higher margin items, I'm sure.MB's has now jumped on the bandwagon. I went in to buy some chicken. Couldn't find the 9 piece, 13 piece, etc. anywhere on display. Guy: Can I help you? Me: I'm looking for your buckets of chicken. Him: (starts describing the "deal" I can read all by myself on the display behind him, which comes with taters, drinks etc.) Midway through description of second "deal", I say: I just want the chicken. Him: We have 6 piece, 9 piece, 13 piece and 18 piece. I had to ask how much the ones I was considering were and he had to ring in each one. Yeah, not a big deal, they still have great chicken, but it irks me, being manipulated like that. Be more subtle, food industrial complex, when you're trying to get me to pay more for less. (Comparing on their online menu, if you buy their 13 or 18 piece chicken, you're paying and extra $11 for large fries or taters, large salad, and large gravy.)Just thought of a shortcut. Maybe to get the deals, I should just ask what's NOT on the display.

I really like this place, nice staff and they are quick. the food never disappoints here I love the chicken pop ins and the chicken fingers and the taters are the best

As soon as I saw this place I was determined to eat there at some point on the weekend. We used to have one in New Glasgow NS in the early 80's and It wasn't until 2010 that I ate there again ( in Kingston Ont) My gf wasn't exactly excited to try it but after we had lunch there she will be excited to go back again. Besides the awkward young girl behind the counter who obviously wasn't equipped to deal with two people who never eat there and were trying to figure out the menu, the experience was great. An older gentleman who I assume is the owner came in and took over. He was very nice and served us our food. He even came back 5 minutes later and asked us how everything was. This was an absolute first ever for a fast food joint. And the food was awesome. Everything was good, right down to the gravy and macaroni salad. Definitely wish Mary Browns would come back to New Glasgow.

My friends and i eat at Mary Browns every Thursday night on the west side of saint john NB they are so friendly and the place is so clean and the staff are next to none when it comes to be friendly just love the place the chicken is away hot and not all dyed out i have went to the one on the east side and it is terrible the staff are lazy and not friendly at all and it seems to take for ever when i went through the drive through any way just wanted to give my impressing of your restaurant and i hope that i don't offend your restaurant on the east side it is hard to believe that there both the same franchise so thanks again fore the great chicken on the west side i rated this below in the survey of the one on the west side

We have stopped at the Saint John west location 3 times for take out and have gotten home all three times missing either the taters or salad that we ordered. Probably won' stop for a 4th visit.
