Some found the food options lacking and service slow, while others praised the homemade dishes and impeccable service. The atmosphere was described as meh by some, but others enjoyed the fun and lively environment. The cocktails and food received high praise overall, with some diners even considering a return visit. The location near the Richelieu River adds to the appeal, making it a great spot for summer fun year-round. Overall, Le Dorchester seems to offer a unique dining experience worth trying.
We went in for a quick drink before a concert we were attending, and almost didn't want to leave! The cocktails were crafted by a super-friendly and welcoming bar staff team, and the food was FANTASTIC! We had tartares, lobster risotto and a few other items, and all were delicious, fresh and creative in their execution. We're actually going back to spend a weekend this summer, because the area is beautiful, but mostly so we can hang here and try the rest of their menu, and lots more cocktails when we don't have to drive!
We stumbled upon Le Dorchester by chance while visiting St-Jean-sur-Richelieu to see The Damn Truth nearby. We almost skipped the show because we were so impressed with the warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly and patient barstaff, unique and perfectly crafted cocktails, and the incredible food. We shared lobster bisque risotto with a lobster tail, tuna tartare, and beef tartare, all prepared with skill and love. The flavors were amazing, the portions were just right, and as we sat at the bar taking in the surroundings, we considered staying there instead of going to the concert. Ultimately, we decided to go see our favorite band, but we have already planned a weekend getaway in the region this summer, with Le Dorchester being a major reason for our return visit.
Our filet mignon and ribs were overcooked. However the duck wings we had were tasty. The service is very good, and parking is plentiful behind the restaurant. The atmosphere was meh. This appears to be more of a burger place than fine dining, despite the prices .
I went to this restaurant with my family for a birthday dinner and was extremely disappointed. There were limited food options, my margarita was too strong, and despite making a reservation a week in advance, we were told there was no reservation for us. To make matters worse, the filet mignon, which I ordered, was not available after I had already decided on it. It was surprising to find that a highly rated restaurant was missing so many items from their already limited menu. Even the ice cream shop next door was missing some items from their menu, so we couldn't enjoy the dessert we had wanted.
We celebrated my sister in law birthday and my niece birthday as well on the same evening here. While the location, staff and food were all great, the bar service was slow and understaffed. Otherwise was great!
