What Flo Glover doesn't like about Plage Restaurant Paloma Beach:
Paid 30 Euro for a big bottle of water, a freshly pressed orange juice and a moscow mule. This would have been only overpriced, but the quality is appalling. The waitress was seemingly in it by the way she pours the water in the glasses with a smile. The bottles have still their paper seals on, but the water is not cold, while the bottle is wet outside. And yes, tap water does taste different than mineral water.
The restaurant is on the beach and has a beautiful view overlooking the sea . Unfortunately, we didn't arrive by boat. If we had, I think we may have had better service. We definitely felt we were unimportant. The menu was expensive for average food and worse than average service. There are many other places to eat in this area that are cheaper and better. I won't be returning.
My family and I came here to dine. The location is fantastic. We had the 1/2 hour walk around the Cap before sitting for dinner and it was beautiful. The views all around are breathtaking. The path takes you to a pretty Chapel and also a Belgian war cemetery. When back from our walk, we sat at the bar willing to order an aperitif. The staff was not very kind though and they brought drinks without any finger food whatsoever, completely over charging what we had.We then asked for our table and we sat. A waiter approached us rudely asking who had told us to sit there. When we explained, he was still not convinced and puffed away.Luckily the maître arrived and the situation changed completely. We would have left otherwise. We had a beautiful fish meal - I strongly recommend to try their fried mixed fish as it was outstanding. To sum up, a very bad start, recovered by the maître's kindness and the quality of the food.
In the past, we've been eating at paloma beach a few times and this year. What a setback. The services were badly waiting, not friendly, and the quality of the food also fell apart. The dishes were tasteless. The fish of the main dish was good, but the shrimp was hard and too peppery. Location stays top.
The restaurant is located in a splendid corner of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, we have dinner on the seaside with views of the Gulf of ants, accessible by a steep concrete staircase. acceptable and courteous service. fish dishes and wine cards are good, even if prices are not frankly modest. I could recommend this restaurant for the location that is really beautiful!
