Royal Palace Seafood

I like these kinds of East Vancouver Chinese restaurants.  Richmond restaurants are good, usually the food is better, but my heart is with the Vancouver restaurants.  <br/ <br/ Came here 3 times, twice for dinner and once for dim sum.  Dinner last time was a 2 course Peking Duck for two.  We had a few beers too.  The value in this kind of dinner is amazing.  Plus it was very good, nice crepes and a little meat left on the duck skin.  Special points for the best head of lettuce ever.<br/ <br/ Dim sum this morning was very good.  We stuck to the usual suspects har gow, sticky rice, shrimp rice roll etc. and they were all done well.  So highly recommended, especially if you are also fond of East Van restaurants.

Came here for dinner. Ordered the 3和菜 for about $55. Tried the Bittermelon with Pork Neck and that was pretty good the bittermelon was soft and not too bitter, and the pork wasn't fat. Their Scrambled Eggs with Prawn was surprisingly delicious! It was leaning towards the salty side, but it was still delicious (but anymore salt and it would've been a little salty). The Halibut and Tofu Pot was just average.

Been craving dimsum for a few weeks now. Checked on zomato for a near by dimsum restaurant and came across Van Dragon. Ratings and reviews made us hesitant to even want to try this place, but glad we drop by anyways. Dimsum came out fresh and hot, except the beef rolls. The sizes of the siu mai and ha gao were pretty big. Service wasn't too bad. At one point my boyfriend wanted more tea so he decided to bring the pot up himself to pour some hot water in, but the waitress saw him and grabbed it from him and apologized for the lack of acknowledgement. When the bill came, my boyfriend noticed the tea was free of charge! What a bonus!

This restaurant is just a few blocks from my parents house so we come here quite a bit.The discount is nice if you can be there and ordered by 11am  and pay with free tea. My parents now bring their own tea as we went to one restaurant and they recycled the tea. One table leaves and they just keep adding hot water!  Thats  why lots of people bring their own tea. Not being cheap, tea is so important. I always ordered the egg tarts as no egg tarts to me is not yum chai! You get 4 little ones but it's perfect. I  usually love baked b.b.q pork buns but everyone in town putting a sugar topping and it's too sweet. The pork inside is sweet enough!!!!! The  ha kow  was good, as the bean curd wraps and beef balls are fresh. I love the shrimp stuffed eggplant or deep fried tofu. The deep fried calamari is a bit chewy but has flavour. The best are the deep fried garlic shrimp rolls not oily always fresh. We've enjoyed the rice with chicken and sausage on top. The glutinous fried rice is also good. I don't think I can give a restaurant more than this as bathrooms okay. Food is consistent though. Service one guy not very service oriented, we asked when the ha kow coming and he said it's coming. He wasn't rude just indifferent.

Dinnertime. Van Dragon is definitely a restaurant for the locals. No fancy decor. No fancy plating. Just decent Cantonese dishes and good prices. Highlights were their XO sauce halibut and Eggplant with beef. The soya chicken comes with their dinner specials is also delicious.
