Contribute Feedback What Jaap Bok doesn't like about Cafe Restaurant L'Abbaye:
After reading the menu for the terrace for a while and after no one came to us, we took a seat on the terrace. Then the lady came immediately and asked if we had made a reservation. Not so. Then it was not possible to have lunch... Afterwards it turned out that the lady should have allowed us onto the terrace. Ma 'am, where we come from it is not unusual to sit down and wait for the waiter to come to the table. Appar... View all feedback.
If you don't have anywhere else to eat. Big plate but everything is frozen
Smiling, welcoming and friendly staff, simple, qualitative and a copyful plate accompanied by good food and this at a very good price. friendly terrace and quite spacious. Note that we went there accompanied by a big dog and that it was not a problem at all (in comparison to other establishments that beat Aramaic when they see it)
Went there on a Saturday evening. Greeted the owner, went and sat down and were totally ignored for twenty minutes, until three Austealians who had booked came and sat at the next table. Eventually a waiter appeared and started to take their order. When we protested, we were told we had not booked and would have to wait until everyone who had booked had been served and that he would then "see what he could do". Would have been nice to be warned when we went in. Needless to say, we left in disgust
Relatively expensive and down at heel untidy looking. We decided not to lunch here and drove on to Limoux centre for lunch.
Just passing through and stopped at this local Cafe. All-in-all, the food was okay. Nothing fancy, some items previously frozen as opposed to "fresh," some pre-made things. This isn't a restaurant where things are made fresh on-site (except for slicing the bread, arranging the salad plate, etc). Like others, we were unable to eat everything. It was quite a bit of food. Appetizer, main course (choice between two dishes.), dessert, and wine. 17Euro each. We were not given a choice for dessert, but that didn't matter much. The young couple who run the place were friendly enough ... the locals who come to the bar, also friendly ... especially when you are able to speak the language.
