The terrace of the Château de la Gournerie is perfect for a little sophisticated lunch. The restaurant room is elegant and decorated with modern art objects. The service is classic and the dishes offered at the midi formula are well cooked.
A bad reception at La Terrasse de la Gournerie restaurant and they didn't want you to pay the note in cash. This can be a frustrating situation. Remarks from the displaced manager. After asking for explanations about their payment policy. They are not able to solve this problem and offer you a satisfactory solution.
Initially I would like to say that I didn't want to post, except that given the absence of excuses from the manager and the absence of a commercial gesture from the restaurant, despite our polite exchange, I think it is important to return my experience to other customers. We have come several times in this small committee restaurant on 2022 and we have always been very happy with these gastronomic moments. On December 25, we came to lunch at 11 people. All of this started very badly with a somewhat lost server seems to it that allowed some surprising familiarities. After waiting for more than an hour and following our request, we finally had water to desalt us. The mouth lovers arrive, damage it lacks 2 , it will be corrected quickly. The foie gras is served and well presented, the waiter will open the wine, this one produces the grey pinot intended for the jacque sts rather than the Layon's ideal for the foie gras of course, we stopped it at the last moment when we saw it. Obviously this one did not see the concern and did not understand... In the plate, the chunks of foie gras are very uneven and this one is too alcoholic. we are disappointed. Given our comment on the quality of service, a very competent and discreet lady takes over, ouf! The nuts of St Jacques are served, beautiful once again, but they are cold and not warm! Then comes the deer resistance plate, it is either very bleeding or too cooked, or to point. The dish is however generous but such an uneven cooking is surprising. several will not finish their dishes elsewhere. The wine is, however, excellent. Regarding dessert, nothing to say also it was very good. So we end on a good note. We then went to pay, so the note was 770€ all the same menu at 60€. No excuse when you pay! We remain dubitative, we realize on the return road that the deposit of 150€ yet taken has not been counted. so we make half turn a little upset this time it has been fixed since by transfer. So we go back to the restaurant I ask to see the manager. We will have no excuse, we are really sad and very disappointed, we appreciate this restaurant so much. This restaurant was part of the very good tables we appreciate. We do not understand, it is unacceptable given the final invoice to have no excuse for minima and a menu so mediocre especially for a party meal.
Service is perfect, attentive without being obsessive. The map is short but varied and widely sufficient to satisfy the most demanding. Well presented and well cooked dishes. All in a bucolic setting. Another very positive point: the tables are well spaced. A very good time
In addition to the plates served, we appreciated the setting, the serenity that emerges from this establishment. The service is fast despite the many steps to be taken for staff. Too bad that the entrance was as thin as it was delicious (spadon cherry) too, I recommend choosing a menu rather than a dish in the map.
